The Ghanaian Banker
The Ghanaian Banker is the Institute’s quarterly journal; each member receives a personal copy. It covers issues of direct relevance to members and includes information on Institute developments and activities.


Holders of any of the following qualifications are eligible to apply.

  1. Six (6) Credits in GCE ‘O’ Level, including English Language and Mathematics or Accounting. Plus ‘A’ Levels with Passes in three (3) subjects, two (2) of which should not be below grade ‘D’.
  2. SHSCE: Credits in three (3) core subjects, including Core Mathematics and Core English, plus three (3) Passes in the Electives (with an aggregate of not more than 24), OR three (3) passes in RSA (Stage 3).
  3. Recognized Degrees, HND, Diplomas, DBS, ICA (GH), ACCA and other professional Qualifications.
  4. PASS MARK OF 50% in Matured Student Route-In-Course (MRIC) organized by CIB (Gh).

  1. The Professional course of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (Ghana) is made up of levels 1, 2, 3 & 4 under the new programme/curriculum.
  2. Exemptions are granted only in the Levels 1 & 2 of the new programme on subject for subject basis.
  3.  Examinations are held twice in a year, in April and October. There is no order for selection of courses for examination registration; however, candidates are expected to complete one level before proceeding to the next.
